Notes

General Note
Chiefly illustrations.
General Note
Although this history is inspired by real events, it is nonetheless fiction: authentic incidents, suppositions, and pure invention are freely mixed. The historical characters exist alongside composite beings and others who are entirely imaginary; their appearances, behaviors, and expressions are made by the authors.
Creation/Production Credits
Colors by Delf ; lettered by Haley Rose-Lyon.
Description
"Based on the true story of Joseph Joanovici, a Romanian Jew who immigrated to France in the 1920s and became one of the richest men in Europe as a scrap-metal magnate. During the Second World War he becomes a Nazi collaborator and war profiteer who provides the Nazi regime with the metals it needs, but secretly he uses his wealth and influence to finance the French Resistance and free fellow Jews from Nazi hands. Due to his tactics he was one of the three Jews who were denied Israeli citizenship"--,Provided by publisher.
