His fifteenth wedding anniversary to Estelle is on the horizon, but his marriage is breaking down. In trying to have a child for many years, Benedict and Estelle have focused on nothing else. They've forgotten how to relate as a couple in their own right. When Estelle moves out of their home, after Benedict's reluctance to accept their childless fate, he is devastated. Benedict vows to win Estelle back - but he doesn't know how. One rainy night, after a disappointment with Estelle, Benedict is alone in his house once more, when there's a knock at the door. Thinking his wife has returned Benedict answers to find a young stranger on his doorstep. The girl announces that she is his sixteen-year-old niece, Gemma, and that she's arrived from America to stay with him for the summer. Gemma and Bill decide to make a deal. She can stay with him for the summer but, in turn, she will help him with operation WEB - Win Estelle Back.
